What is Occam? ============== :Last update: $Date: 2007/04/22 04:51:53 $ :Revision: $Revision: 1.4 $ .. contents:: Contents .. section-numbering:: Occam is a simple e-learning system. Teachers can create courses with an arbitrary number and order of lessons and tests. Lessons can be written in plain text or richt text through a builtin WYSIWIG editor and can contain rich media being rendered by Horde's MIME viewer system. Tests can currently contain any number of multiple choice questions, but the test system can easily be extended by new test types. Students see a list of all available courses but only have access to the lessons and tests they subscribed to. Once starting a course they can view the lessons and do the intermediate test as often as they like, though the teacher has the option to restrict the course to a certain duration or timeframe. Once they feel comfortable with the learned lessons they can run the final exam, again as often as they like but with each test result being recorded.
